Mathan Raj

Mathan is the co-founder and Senior Partner of DMP. Upon being called to the Bar of England and Wales, he commenced his pupillage at a top tier dispute resolution firm in Malaysia during which he was actively involved in disputes before the Special Commissioners of Income Tax, drafting and advisory work on commercial agreements and advisory work relating to taxation. Upon being called to the Malaysian Bar, he was retained as an associate with the firm's Construction, Engineering, Infrastructure & Projects and International Arbitration Practice Group where he was actively involved in complex and high value construction disputes in Malaysian Courts and Arbitration. Mathan has acted for Employers, Main Contractors and Sub-Contractors in Adjudication under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA).

Presently, Mathan is involved in various construction related litigation & adjudication, insurance related litigation, tenancy disputes, tortious claims, medical negligence, debt recovery and commercial disputes. His portfolio includes drafting, reviewing and advising on commercial contracts, construction contracts and wills. He also actively assists clients in preparing Sale & Purchase and Facility Agreements. He is highly experienced in handling a wide range of clientele, from real estate developers to financial institutions. Mathan is held in high regard for his effectiveness in providing practical, commercially viable and successful solutions to ensure our clients' rights are safeguarded.
